Because this document, from the original Project Coyote website, was among the first items I posted on the blog, many readers are likely to have missed it. I’ve lived with this image for 12 years now. I am unable to explain it as being anything other than a female Ivory-billed Woodpecker and have yet to read or hear a plausible alternative explanation.
As Frank mentioned in his analysis, I had a sighting at the same location a week before the image was captured, and we heard an extended series of suggestive calls in the same vicinity the day before my sighting.
To clarify and correct the URL and original page title: the image was captured in late 2009 and first posted on the web in 2010.
